Sourdough Bread & Sour Beers

May 22, 2021 | 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Sourdough bread and beer

Over the past year, many of us found ourselves with time on our hands – and many have used this time to explore the wonderful world of baking. One of the more mysterious and enchanting of baking creations is sourdough bread – interest in sourdough is surging!

No yeast needed, sourdough lets anyone turn flour, water, and time into amazing bread. If you’re curious about exploring sourdough and would like to de-mystify this magic, join us in our Wine Spectator Theater and watch a master of sourdough as she demonstrates the steps to making warm, crusty and wonderful sourdough bread. Everyone will sample the freshly baked bread AND will take home with them their very own sourdough starter!

Another burgeoning interest can be found around the world of Sour Beers. Over the last several years Sour Beers have become one of the important segments of craft beer. Though their illustrious and colorful history encompasses centuries of beer-making, they only recently became widely popular for mainstream craft beer drinkers. In this class you will also learn more about these beers and will be served a flight to help you to compare.
